Welcome to Studioware 2.0

Thank you for taking the time to evaluate Studioware 2.0.  We know that running a Studio is very difficult: You're juggling students, parents, staff, instructors, classes, schedules, enrollment, tuition, payments, communications, and much, much, more.

Studioware 2.0 is here to help you with all these tasks.

Learning any new software package is a time-consuming process, and we know you are already so busy. To make it easier to learn Studioware, we will send you a series of Tutorial emails.  Simply follow the suggestions in these tutorial emails, and you will be a Studioware expert in no time.

Getting Started:

The best place to start is with Students.  Studioware allows you to import all of your current Student data, however to get started quickly learning Studioware, let's just manually add a couple of "test" students.  Simply click on "Students" in the main menu, and then click on "Add Student":

Once you save the new student, you will be on the "Student Summary" page.  The summary page contains important information about the student.  Go ahead and play with the student record.  Notice that you can:

• Upload a photo
• Manage Phone Numbers, Email Addresses, and Mailing Address.
• Add contacts to the student (with contact phone numbers, email and mailing addresses)
• Add student notes
• Join 2 or more students together in a family
• View the student's financial account (a separate accounting email tutorial will be sent later).
• Enroll a student in a class (Creating a class is the next email lesson - and will arrive tomorrow)

Advanced Student Features:

Here are 2 advanced topics related to Students that you may wish to explore:

1. Studioware makes extensive use of "tags".  Tags allow you to categorize students.  You can create any number of tags you like, and then assign them to students. This will allow you to send an email to all students with a certain tag, or add a financial transaction (like a discount) to students with a certain tag. Studioware even lets you charge different tuition amounts based on student tags.  [Learn more about tags]
2. In addition to tags, Studioware also allows you to create custom-fields and lists.  Suppose for example, you want to track a student's "skill level".  You could create a custom-field called "Skill" with the values "Advanced", "Intermediate", and "Beginner", and require "skill" to be selected when creating a new student.
