Studioware 2.0 Class Enrollment

In the previous email tutorials, we created test students, and a test class called "Introductory Class".  We set the tuition to $200 for the test class.  Now we are ready to enroll students in the test class.   There are a number of ways to enroll students in classes (learn more):

1. Open the class and search for students to enroll
2. Open the student and enroll them into a class
3. Students/Parents can "Self-Serve" and enroll in classes in the Business Portal (more on this later)
4. Students can "Graduate" from one class into another class.
5. Students on a class waiting list can be "forced" from the waiting list into the class.

Enrolling Students:

Click on "Classes" in the main menu.  The list of classes will appear.  Also note, the classes can be displayed in the Class Explorer. Click on the "Enroll" button next to the class where students will be enrolled.

Enter in the first few letters of the student's last name, and then select the student from the drop-down list.  Repeat this search to accumulate a list of students that should be enrolled in the class:

Once you have accumulated the list of all students that should be enrolled in the class, click on the "Enroll Students" button.  A summary of the enrollment status will be displayed:

Here are some important notes about student enrollment:

1. The enrollment status will indicate if the student was successfully enrolled or placed on a waiting list [Learn More]

3. The tuition will be automatically added to the student financial accounts.  We will review the Studioware accounting functionality in tomorrow's email tutorial.
4. Students/Parents can also self-enroll in classes using the Business Portal.
5. The Studioware Business Portal can be configured to collect a payment at the time of enrollment [Learn More]
6. Studioware can Pro-Rate the tuition if a student is enrolling in a class that has already started [Learn More]

Whats Next?

Studioware contains a full accounting module.  You can add, edit, and delete transactions. Some transactions are automatically added, other transactions are manually added.  Studioware allows you to collect electronic payments too.  More to come...
